The Caldwell Residence

Scope of Project:

This client hired us to redesign and renovate his backyard landscaping to make it a more enjoyable space for his upcoming retirement. As a starter, this project required the construction of two retaining walls: one to support his walkway and another to serve as the foundation for a seat wall that would surround a fire pit patio. For the segmental block walls, we chose the Strassen Wall block by Borgert Products. For the fire pit patio itself, we chose Strassen Classic pavers from Borgert Products. Discrete lighting from Unique Lighting was installed under the seat wall caps to enhance a warm nighttime ambiance. 

The project also included the construction of a segmented, decorative sand-finish concrete walkway and an underground drainage system for our client’s downspouts. For the fire pit itself, we chose a rustic Corten steel feature. Planting choices for the project included ‘Royalty’ lilac, Dwarf Fountain Grass, ‘Green Velvet’ Boxwood, ‘Flower Carpet Pink Supreme’ Rose, and ‘Stella d’Oro’ Daylily.
